Tuesday Musings - Sneak Peek at a Film In the Works (and some news!)

I've been working on a short-short animation (2:30) combining music, art and dance; working title "Joyfully". Incredibly joyous and lilting music adapted from Bach's Brandenburg #6 and "dancers" from all over art history. It's one of my 2D animations, the only type I was able to do while recuperating from shoulder surgery (which is still ongoing), and has been a lot of fun, especially synching the dancers with the music (guess that depends on your definition of "fun" 😬). Here are a couple of stills; not shown are the two incredibly detailed final scenes - can't give everything away! The first complete draft should be done next week some time...then it's on to fine-tuning, which can be pretty exacting!

UPDATES!

"Espressivo, a Love Song to Coffee", "And She Rode Forth...." and "You Are Here" have ALL been selected to screen at the wonderful Cindependent Film Festival in late August!!! I attended last year, when "Essentially Alys" won Best Off-kilter Short and had an absolute blast, so we'll be attending again this year. If you're anywhere near Cincinnati August 29-31 definitely check out this festival...it's one of the really good ones!

AND....

"You Are Here" has also been selected to show at the Highway Walkers Film Festival at the Charles Sheldon Center in Denali National Park, Alaska, this weekend! Looks like a perfect venue for this little meditation on being in the moment, in the wild.

"Requiem for the Lost" has been awarded a "Special Judges Nod" from the Berlin Flash Film Festival's second season!
